Goodbye, Motorola VX-261

The Motorola VX-261 is discontinued and no longer available and we're forced to say goodbye to an old friend. Twowayradiocenter.com has probably sold over 100,000 Motorola VX-261. I remember when it was introduced using Motorola’s new Unified Charging Tray. It was not a fun transition, but it sure was worth it. The Motorola VX-261 is a great radio. We’ll continue to offer accessories and repairs but sadly, we're out of this little gem and can’t source any more.

It’s replacement is the Motorola CP100d offered in an analog only mode. At first glance, the Motorola CP100d is a little thinner but appears to be well built. Knobs are larger and more prominent and it’s louder. It uses the same universal charger and is priced about the same as the VX-261. We think you’ll like it.

Key features of the Motorola CP100d include:

  • 16 talk channels with Scan
  • Offered in UHF and VHF Configurations
  • Up to 13 hours of battery life
  • Excellent Audio Quality
  • Withstands a 5 Foot Drop on Concrete
  • Water Resistant
  • 2 Year Warranty

When you buy the Motorola CP100d Analog only radio, you’ll get everything you need including a battery, belt clip, and drop in charging tray. Free programming and free shipping are always included when you shop with Twowayradiocenter.com.
