Two Way Radios In Construction

Two Way Radios on Commercial Construction Jobsites

You don't have to look far on a commercial job site to find two way radios in use.  Two way radios are vital for all phases on a construction project and are used from the initial ground preparation to the final walk through.  Walkie Talkies provide the Superintendent with quick access to the various Sub-Contractors on the job while also allowing Sub-Contractors to have instant communication with their Teams.  For the Construction Industry, two way radios are a Power Tool used for Safety, Job Coordination, and Productivity.  There isn't a question of if two way radios are needed on a jobsite, the question is which is the right two way radio for your construction site?

Twowayradiocenter.com has been calling on Construction Jobsites for over 20 years.  We know your business, we know your needs, and we know which two way radios best meet those needs.  For a new jobsite without any walkie talkies, we recommend the Kenwood NX-340U16P 5 Watt UHF Digital Two Way Radio.  Kenwood's NX-340U16P offers 5 UHF Digital Watts of Power and outstanding audio quality.  You'll find the Digital Walkie Talkie will give you extended range.

The Kenwood and Motorola Two Way Radios we show in this category are proven workhorses for the Construction Industry.  Construction sites need at least 16 Channels and should only use 4 or 5 Watt UHF Two Way Radios.  All of these 2 way radios can be custom programmed to work with any existing two way radios you might have.  Twowayradiocenter.com can assist you with getting your new two way radios programmed with your existing walkie talkies.

We Educate .... You Decide What's the Best Two Way Radio for a Construction Site?

Why shouldn't we use the least expensive two way radios on your site?  You can and they'll probably work during the early stages of your project.  As the floors go up, you'll find that our FRS and GMRS products don't have the range to get to the higher floors.  You'll also find these inexpensive walkie talkies aren't durable enough to last more than 2-3 months.

Do we need a Repeater?  Most building projects up to 30 floors do not need a Repeater.  We find Repeaters are necessary when there are two or more towers being built at once or where the jobsite trailer is 1/2 mile or more away from the site.

Which is the best two way radio for our construction site?  The Motorola CP200d has been the best selling radio in the construction industry for many years.  The Motorola RDU4160d has the best warranty.  The Kenwood TK-3000 has the best price.  Both work great on construction sites.

We have existing two way radios.  Can you program the new walkies talkies to work with our existing fleet?  Absolutely.  Please give us a call at 855-770-7194 and we'll be glad to help.  The process is easy and painless.
