We Educate .... You Decide if the Motorola T280 is the Right Radio for You!
How far can I expect my T280 radios to communicate? The communication range quoted is calculated based on an unobstructed line of sight test under optimum conditions. Actual range will vary depending on terrain and conditions, and is often less than the maximum possible. Your actual range will be limited by several factors including, but not limited to: terrain, weather conditions, electromagnetic interference and obstructions. Expect less range than Motorola quotes.
Is the Motorola T280 a good walkie talkie for business use? We do not recommend Motorola Talkabout's for business use because Talkabout walkie talkies are not built to withstand the requirements of a business environment. These two way radios will work fine in a business but will not be durable enough to last over six months in most environments.
Will the Motorola T280 talk to Police and Fire Departments? No, the Motorola T280 is programmed with FRS and GMRS frequencies and will only talk to other two way radios on the same frequencies. Frequencies are regulated by the FCC.
