Motorola T470 Talkabout Radios have impressive range from Mountain Top to Mountain Top but can be underwhelming when used in urban areas.  The box says 35 miles... don't count on it.  All handheld radios work line of sight unless connected to a repeater.  You might get .5 miles and you might get 35 miles.  We do not guarantee range and not getting enough range is not an approved reason to send back your radios for a full refund.

Can I use the Motorola T470 as a weather radio?  Yes, it is a capable weather radio programmed to work on all NOAA Weather Stations, Nationwide.    

Can I use the Motorola T470 on a GMRS Repeater?  No, the T470 does not have GMRS repeater channels preprogrammed.  

Can I use the Motorola T470 on GMRS channels without a license?  There's nothing stopping you except the enthusiasts who will make you wish you hadn't.  

Can I use alkaline batteries?  Yes, 3 AA batteries or the included NiMH battery will power the Motorola T470.
