We almost exclusively recommend UHF two way radios to our business customers. Traditionally UHF two way radios have been recommended for customers who primarily use their two way radios indoors and VHF two way radios when the product is used both indoors and outdoors. We believe UHF two way radios are the best solution for customers working indoors as well as those customers who are working in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments. The UHF two way radio will sound clearer when penetrating walls.
Some will say VHF two way radios have a greater range and they are correct if we’re only talking outdoors and line of site. Think about the looking one mile down a city street. You probably can’t do it. Now, think about looking one mile out into the Ocean or down the beach. Two way radios work the same way. They will work at greater distances if there are no obstructions and VHF signals travel further than UHF signals so the VHF two way radio wins.
